| This whip is a hand crafted American style bullwhip the whip is 10 feet long measured from the start of the handle to the end of the braid. This whip is moderately heavy with the weight being carried well down the thong the whip is also balanced in the best American tradition. This whip is constructed using Australian methods meaning that the whip has 2 plaited (braided) bellies. The first belly is a 6 plait around a tapered leather core this is followed by another 8 plait belly over the first and then a 12 plait overlay encircling both bellies this construction method creates the highest density and a very fluid action. The whip is constructed from 100 % vegetable tanned latigo cowhide. The reason I use vegetable tanned latigo is because it is in my opinion the best tanning process for cowhide and produces the strongest and most durable cowhide lace this will provide the longest useful life of the whip under heavy use conditions. This whip was constructed as a test whip for me to determine thong weights I have used this whip for practice for about three weeks to evaluate its performance. It is in very good condition and will serve someone well in the future it also has a par cord fall which greatly extends the trouble free use of the whip. | Heres a 12 Plait, 12 foot, Beveled Leather Bullwhip Arturo Made for me. Its Braided super tight and tapers down to about 1/4 inch around at the end of the braid. Ive never had a whip crack as easy as this one does. Check the closeup of his braiding and Fall Knot. |
